Yoga and Its Benefits
The teaching of Yoga brings with it a vast array of physical and psychological benefits. It becomes an opportunity to open to Grace and to tap into the vast resources of energy and peace and goodness that is within and all around us.
New students to the Yoga and Wellness Center generally enroll in the introductory classes designed for the beginner.
Both hatha and raja yoga are taught in each class. The hatha yoga includes instruction in asanas (postures), focusing on the "3 A's":
Attitude, Alignment, and Action, along with breathing and relaxation techniques. The raja yoga consists of instruction in a wide variety of traditional techniques of meditation, concentration and relaxation.
